Mission Folk Music Festival 2026 Guide
The Mission Folk Music Festival takes place at Fraser River Heritage Park in Mission, in the Fraser Valley. In 2026 it runs from July 24 to 26. More than two dozen acts appear across five stages. In addition to the music, the weekend includes workshops, family-friendly programming, food vendors, a licensed bistro and on-site camping.
What to Expect at the Folk Music Festival
Friday begins with the evening main-stage program. Saturday and Sunday expand into full festival days, with concerts and themed sessions running through the afternoon before the focus returns to the main stage at night. The smaller stages are not filler. They are where artists with similar styles are paired for sets built specifically for the festival, including fiddle exchanges, songwriter circles, vocal collaborations and percussion workshops.
The scale of the festival is a major part of the appeal. Attendance can reach roughly 1,500 people on the busiest days, which is large enough to give the evening shows great energy.
A full weekend pass to the festival makes sense for people who want the complete program, while evening tickets give visitors a lower-cost way to enjoy the headliners.
Tip: Do not build the entire day around the main stage. The daytime collaborations are where much of the festival’s character shows up, and several of those combinations will not appear anywhere else.

The 2026 Festival Lineup
The artist list covers a wide range of folk music. Tanika Charles brings contemporary soul from Ontario. Blue Moon Marquee works in blues, swing and jazz. Alpha Yaya Diallo & BAFING connect West African guitar traditions with a full-band festival set, while the LowDown Brass Band closes Sunday with Chicago brass, funk and hip-hop energy.
The lineup also includes Canadian songwriters, string bands, Indigenous artists and international voices. Burnstick, Kellie Loder, The Fugitives, The Horsenecks, Sauljaljui, Nastasia Y, DIVKA, Joce Reyome, Brianna Lizotte and Michael McGovern all appear in both concerts and collaborative sessions across the weekend.

The Daytime Sessions
Saturday starts around 11:00 am with four daytime stages operating before the evening concert. In 2026 the schedule includes artist combinations such as Fiddle Me This!, Songs Worth Singing, Necessary Voices, Sonic Conversations and String Summit. These sets place musicians from different projects together around a shared theme, giving the weekend more depth than a sequence of standard tour performances.
Sunday continues this year with Mother Tongues, Cross Country Check-In, Roots Round-Up and Funk Soul Brothers. There are also choir sessions, creative movement, percussion workshops, a panel on the future of folk music and a closing open jam where visitors can bring an instrument.
Tip: Sunday’s festivities begin at 11:00 am with Rise and Shine, a main-stage session featuring artists from across the weekend. It is a strong reason to arrive well before the evening program.
Camping at The Festival
Camping turns the event into a full weekend rather than three separate drives. The campground opens Friday afternoon, with individual sites assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Weekend passes with camping are available, and the added cost is lower than booking accommodation elsewhere in the Fraser Valley.
The setup is practical rather than resort-style, so arrive prepared for a standard festival campsite. Quiet hours, wristband access and festival camping rules apply.
Tip: Arrive as early as your pass allows if campsite location matters to you. Placement is first-come, first-served.
Food, Drinks and The Artisan Market
A market of more than 20 local and regional artisans runs during the festival, with jewellery, clothing, art, soaps, food products and other small-batch goods. It gives the daytime site another reason to wander between sets rather than staying fixed in one performance area.
Food trucks and vendors offer meals and snacks throughout the weekend. A licensed bistro serves beer, wine, cider and non-alcoholic drinks for guests. Food and beverages are purchased separately from admission.

Fraser River Heritage Park and Mission
Fraser River Heritage Park sits above the Fraser River at 7494 Mary Street. The park has open lawns, mature trees and beautiful scenery. The setting does much of the work: daytime sessions spread across the park, while the evening crowd faces the stage as the light drops over the valley.
Mission, the community, is about an hour east of Vancouver in clear traffic, although a festival weekend can push the drive longer. Visitors making a full day or weekend of the trip can use the Vancouver’s Best Places Guide to Mission to plan other stops in the area.
Festival Tickets
As of July 2026, advance weekend passes are $170 for adults, $155 for seniors and students, and $65 for youth ages 13 to 18. Children ages 12 and under enter free. Saturday and Sunday day passes are $65 for adults, while evening passes begin at $45 for adults. Gate prices are higher.
Camping can be added to weekend admission. Ticket categories and deadlines matter, so check the official ticket page before purchasing rather than relying on an earlier price tier.
Tip: An evening pass is the lowest-cost route to the main-stage headliners. A weekend pass makes more sense for campers and anyone who wants the daytime collaborations as well as the night shows.

Getting there: Driving is the most practical option for the full weekend. Allow extra time for Fraser Valley traffic.
Parking: On-site parking is generally available by donation, including paved and field areas.
Children: The festival is for all ages, and children 12 and under enter free. A dedicated family area operates on site.
