BBQ Ribs, Three Days of Live Music and Free Family Activities at McLeod Athletic Park

Smoke rises from six barbecue rigs while the first band plays across McLeod Athletic Park. Families move between the KidZone and food lines, people compare sauces at picnic tables, and the main stage keeps the park moving until sunset. For three days in August, Ribfest Langley turns a large athletic park into a free community festival built around barbecue, live music and Rotary fundraising.

The 2026 event runs from August 14th to 16th and is hosted by the four Rotary Clubs of Langley. Admission is by donation, while parking, entertainment and festival attractions are free. Food and drinks are purchased separately. The event’s official website says the annual tradition is attended by more than 47,000 people.

What to Expect

Ribfest Langley is easy to approach without a complicated plan. Six professional barbecue teams operate throughout the weekend, the main stage runs from midday into the evening, and the KidZone and SportsZone give families free activities away from the food lines. The grounds carry a site-wide liquor licence, so adults can move through the festival rather than staying inside a separate beer garden.

The event is also a fundraiser, with 100% of net proceeds supporting Langley service organizations and Rotary service projects. Donations are accepted at the entrance by cash, debit or credit card.

 

McLeod Athletic Park and Langley

McLeod Athletic Park is immediately north of Langley Airport, near 56th Avenue and 216th Street. Its open layout leaves room for the barbecue rigs, performance stage and family areas without forcing everything into one narrow corridor. The Six Ribbers

The 2026 field brings together touring teams from Ontario, Saskatchewan and British Columbia. Each vendor serves its own combinations of ribs, pulled pork, chicken, sauces and sides, which gives groups an easy reason to split orders and compare more than one stand. Ribbers at this year’s event are below.

Tasting tip: The Rotary Cookhouse sells a rib taster with one rib from each of the six vendors, making it possible to compare the full field without ordering six separate meals.

 

Other Food and Drinks

The festival goes beyond barbecue with perogies, birria tacos, tornado potatoes, mac and cheese, lemonade, shaved ice, dirty soda, ice cream and mini doughnuts. The official vendor list also identifies vegetarian, plant-based and gluten-free choices, including plant-based perogies and vegan taco options.
Adult beverages can be enjoyed throughout the licensed festival grounds. The current official beverage page lists Molson Coors as the exclusive adult beverage partner, along with Heineken Zero and Chaberton white wine.

Payment tip: Some rib vendors accept cards and others may operate more quickly with cash. ATMs are usually available on site, but service fees apply.

The 2026 Music Lineup

Live music runs across all three days of Ribfest Langley, with six scheduled acts on Friday, six on Saturday and the People’s Choice Awards followed by five performances on Sunday. March Hare closes Friday’s program, Double Overtime headlines Saturday and Antonio Larosa finishes the weekend on Sunday.

KidZone, SportsZone and the Book Sale

The KidZone is free and runs until one hour before the festival closes each day. The official programme includes remote-control cars, mini-golf, carnival games, face painting, a reptile petting zoo, chess, crafts, costumed characters, a TotZone and visits from community organizations. Friday and Saturday hours are 11:00 am to 8:00 pm, while Sunday runs from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm.

The SportsZone adds hands-on activities connected to basketball, rugby, hockey, volleyball, lawn bowling and curling. A used book sale also runs during the festival, extending the event beyond food and stage programming.

 

Community Fundraising

Ribfest Langley is organized by the Rotary Clubs of Aldergrove, Langley, Langley Central and Langley Sunrise. The festival’s net proceeds support service organizations in Langley and Rotary service projects. A separate charitable 50/50 draw is also part of the fundraising initiative.

Getting There

Free parking is available from 56th Avenue, with signs and attendants directing traffic. The festival recommends rideshare, taxi, carpooling or drop-off because vehicles can use a drop-off zone near the entrance. Enter Langley Secondary School, 21405 56th Avenue, as the rideshare destination.

Accessible parking is available from 216th Street. A free attended bike valet is also available for visitors cycling to the park.

 

Good to Know

Hours: Friday and Saturday run from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm. Sunday runs from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm. The KidZone and SportsZone close one hour earlier each day.

Admission: Entry is by donation. Parking, live entertainment and festival attractions are free; food and beverages are purchased separately.

Accessibility: The grounds are wheelchair and stroller accessible, with designated accessible parking from 216th Street.

Pets: Only service animals are permitted on the festival grounds.
